For best results give 8 drops daily. One dose consists of a minimum of 1 billion live Bifidobacterium breve M-16V^®. Do not exceed recommended daily dosage.

Shake bottle well before each use - separation is natural.

Discard original lid.

Give 0.3ml as indicated on dropper (8 drops) in any of the following ways:

• Directly into the mouth*
• On a spoon
• In a bottle of formula milk or expressed breast milk
• On a clean finger (one drop at a time)
• On the nipple (a drop or two at a time)
• For older children, mix the drops into cool food or drinks

Do not wash the dropper.

How do I give live cultures to a breastfed baby?

It can be tricky giving supplements to a breastfed baby, but ‘For your baby’ makes this simple. The easy-to-use dropper allows you to either gently drop the liquid into baby’s mouth, on a nipple or clean finger, give it on a spoon, or add it to a cool, non-acidic drink.

When is the best time of day to give baby live cultures?

It’s best to give friendly bacteria in the morning with the first feed or meal of the day. This helps to ensure that the bacteria pass safely through your baby’s tummy and into the gut.

For how long should my baby take live cultures?

Whether your baby is newborn, one month old, or one year old, ‘For your baby’ is designed for daily, ongoing use.

Can you give a baby too many live cultures?

Live cultures are very safe for babies and you cannot ‘overdose’, so don’t worry about giving them too much. However, there’s no reason to use more than they need. ‘For your baby’ gives the recommended dose of 1 billion live cultures in just 8, easy-to-administer drops.

Safety

Live cultures are not recommended for those with serious medical conditions, e.g. those who are severely immunosuppressed, have pancreatitis, are in the ICU (very premature babies), have melaena, have a central venous catheter, infants with short bowel syndrome, or patients with open wounds following major surgery; unless under a doctor's care. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
